What is TNPMRU?
TNPMRU is the Tamil Nadu Press Media and Reporters Union, a professional organization representing journalists, editors, photographers, and other media professionals. Founded in 1994, it was re-registered in 2016 and is certified by the Labor Commission in Tamil Nadu.
Who can become a member of TNPMRU?
Membership is open to individuals working in various media roles, including journalists, editors, photographers, print and visual media professionals, typists, and those involved in book publishing or advertising agencies. All members must have a salary and proper coverage; “cover” and “gift” cultures are strictly prohibited.

To become a member, you need an appointment order from your employer, a valid identity card, and a salary certificate confirming your wage payments.
